We love being entertained. We crave entertainment. It provides us with an alternate world where we can escape our dreary lives just a few hours daily!
Movies, Books and Television are the most popular forms of entertainment available today (although the neighbours fighting next door will do just fine).
I have been an avid reader since I was a young boy. I graduated quickly from fairy tales to Enid Blyton to J.K.Rowling and Tolkien! Fiction was my forte and remains so even today. I have started reading non-fiction and biographies only these past 4 years, and have learnt to love them.
In my college years, at the age of 16, I discovered Hollywood. The content of the movies, the beautifully crafted action sequences and awesome special effects fascinated me to no end! These movies were so different to those made in India. To this day, I watch most new releases, like some of them and hate some of them.
I discovered American television at almost the same time. In fact, I was forced to watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S (which till date remains my favorite series) by a close friend and since then I have watched numerous sitcoms and dramas. While sitcoms like Friends, The Big Bang Theory and Arrested Development remain my favorites, shows like Game of thrones and Rome have won my heart.
I will use this blog to review movies and books, both old and new. I will make random top 10 lists just to spice things up a bit (these lists never fail to create disputes).
I also plan to publish a special series of posts focussing on the actors, directors and authors, who make these movies and books possible!
I would like to make a small disclaimer. I have in no way read all books or watched all movies. There are bound to be readers who think I have left a great piece of work off my lists. I would like to ask these readers to post their suggestions in the comments section. I will definitely check these out, and even modify my lists if need be.
